Tee Tee Solo’s music has been described as a soulful blend of Calypso, Reggae, Latin, Afrobeat, Jazz & Pop. She is an innovative and passionate singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer who fuses the steel pan into her repertoire. Her cultural blend of genres stems from her all-embracing ethos.
Being one of five members of the only family steelband on Long Island, Tee Tee Solo found her voice through music at an early age. Singing, arranging, harmonizing, and performing was a major part of her life. While most kids hung out on the weekends, she was either performing with Steel Impressions or as a solo performer at various events on the East Coast for weddings, libraries, organizations, churches, an Off-broadway musical, and other occasions.
Always full of ideas and very observant, she started producing music in her college dorm and writing about her environment, the people she encountered, and her travels. Her adventures, near and far, inspire her to connect with nature, explore other cultures, and infuse her experiences into her eclectic sound. Her songs, which usually embrace a dance beat, have an inspirational message of joy, hope, and love. She believes that if her music can heal and bring her joy, it can do the same for others.
'Keep Smiling,' an upbeat song of gratitude for life and loved ones, is a message of hope. The vivacious energy in the drums, lightning steel pan solo, and intense guitar riffs evoke happy feelings and is an invitation to dance.
Tee Tee Solo's most recent music video, More Love, is the perfect visual for her heartfelt song. The song is a conversation she had with God asking for more love in herself so that she can be a vibrant, powerful, light-filled force, full of love for "her mother, father, sister, brother, friend, neighbor.. sad, lonely, hurt and broken."
Her music continues the educational process of highlighting the steel pan by incorporating the unique, intriguing instrument in all of her music. She is continuously working to bring the steel pan into mainstream music in a fresh and creative way. This talented artist keeps her musical dream alive to continue to spread joy, hope, and love to everyone she can.
